Who we are
Demon Autos & Recovery is an independent garage at Unit 5 Milton Road, Milton, Stoke-on-Trent, ST1 6LE. You can reach us on 07459 759160. This policy explains what we do with the information you give us through this website.
What we collect
We only collect what you type into one of our forms. Booking a service asks for your name, phone number, email address, vehicle registration, the service you want and any notes you add. The contact form asks for your name, phone number, email address and your message. The recovery request form asks for your name, phone number, vehicle registration, where the vehicle is and what has happened to it.
If you use the vehicle lookup or the wet belt checker, we send the registration you enter to the DVLA to retrieve the make, engine size, fuel type and year. We do not store the result.
We do not ask for payment details anywhere on this website.
Why we collect it
To do the thing you asked us to do: book your vehicle in, answer your enquiry, or come and recover your car. We also use your contact details to reach you about that specific job, for example to confirm a time or tell you the work is finished.
We do not use your details for marketing, and we do not send newsletters.
Who we share it with
Bookings are added to our Google Calendar so the workshop knows what is coming in. Booking, contact and recovery notifications are sent to us by email and by Telegram so that somebody sees them quickly, which matters most for recovery callouts.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone else except where we are legally required to.
How long we keep it
We keep job records for as long as we need them for servicing history, warranty and accounting purposes. Enquiries that do not turn into work are deleted once they are clearly finished with.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call 07459 759160 or use the contact form and we will sort it out. If you are not happy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
When you first arrive, the only cookies on this site are the ones needed to make it work. Nothing is used for advertising until you say so.
We advertise on Google, so we need to know which adverts and searches actually lead to a booking, a call or a recovery callout. If you accept, Google’s tag sets cookies on your device to join those dots. It records the pages you view, the adverts you arrived from and whether you tapped a call or WhatsApp button. It does not record your name, your registration or anything else you type into a form.
If you accept, we also use PostHog, an analytics service hosted in the EU, to count visits, see which pages and buttons are used and record a replay of how the site was used so that we can fix anything that gets in the way. Replays blank out everything typed into a form. PostHog does not sell or share this information.
If you reject, none of that is stored on your device, no advertising cookies are set and no analytics run.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of any page. Clearing your browser data also clears the choice, and we will ask again.
